Wayland School of Music

Whether you are the parent of a young child just ready for music lessons, already have a seasoned young musician in your family, or are an adult musician yourself, there is a place for you here, and we look forward to sharing your musical journey!
We have enjoyed serving the Boston Metrowest area since 1997, initially as Wayland Violin Studio and now, since our expansion in 2007, as Wayland School of Music.
*WVS/WSM students have come from Wayland,
Weston, Sudbury, Lincoln, Natick, Framingham, Concord, Maynard,
Wellesley, Millis,
Southborough, Westborough, Brighton and Boston. Summer students have
come from as far away as Texas, California and Taiwan!
Music is not just an "activity", it is also a "discipline" - in fact
that is one of the greatest benefits of music study. We understand,
though, that students are involved in various activities, and we
work together with children and parents to help them set up a home
practice routine that will be both manageable and productive.
We have helped those of our students who are up for the challenge to
audition successfully for the Massachausetts Junior District, Senior
District and All-State orchestras; all levels of the GBYSO and NEC
youth orchestras; Interlochen and other intensive summer music
camps; and to have their musical accomplishments play a significant
part in their college applications and decisions.
However, we are very far from being an "audition mill"! We take
pride in nurturing our students' talent at every level. We
experience just as much excitement in helping a very young child
play "Twinkle" for the very first time, and we also work closely
with the local school systems to ensure we are supporting students
in their school string programs.
Whatever your musical aims, you'll find a teacher here who will
support you in achieving them, and perhaps also challenge you to
reach for a little more!

What is the "WSM difference"?
All WSM instructors have at least 10 years of
teaching experience (the 2010-11 average is 24.7 years), and are
also active as professional performers
at a very high level.
